A card game for players from the age of 5 and older, two players or more can play spoof and at the same time gain sequencing and sorting skills. All they need is a deck of cards.
How To Play Spoof
The aim is to be the first player without any cards left in your hands and the game starts with the whole deck being dealt out evenly between the players. Each player takes a turn to place a card on the table in rows in the following order:
- 1st row: Diamonds
- 2nd row: Clubs
- 3rd row: Hearts
- 4th row: Spades
The cards must be placed consecutively in rows (1,2,3,4,5,…). Whoever has the 7 of diamonds goes first by placing the card face up on the table. Players then take turns, playing anti-clockwise (the player to the right plays after someone has put out a card). For example:
- A 6 of diamonds can be played on the left of the 7 of diamonds, and an 8 of diamonds can be placed on the right of the 7 of diamonds.
- A 7 of clubs can be placed under the 7 of diamonds or next to a 6 of clubs if it is already on the table.
If the next player doesn’t have a card to place, they skip their turn. No player is allowed to pass if they do have a card that could be played. The first player that has no cards left to play is the winner.
